OVERVIEW

Dead Space 2 is a third-person survival horror game where players control engineer Isaac Clarke on a space station called the Sprawl, which is overrun by Necromorphs, reanimated corpses caused by a mysterious alien artifact. The game continues Isaac's struggle against the Necromorphs and his own sanity, featuring intense combat with a dismemberment-focused system, exploration of the sprawling station, and physics-based puzzles.


ROLE

Our team was responsible for designing the UI for Dead Space 2. In close collaboration with UI designers and developers, we created the main menu, pause menu, as well as the inventory and weapons customization systems.

During pre-production, I worked with the Redwood Shores team to establish the save/load functionality early in the process. This proactive approach helped prevent the UX team from becoming a bottleneck later in development, as had historically been the case.
